Ki-Baek and his mother are building a house on the beach in Frankly Speaking: Episode 3. He intends to beat the scary people for his parents. But his mother asks him to tell a lie to the people that he doesn’t know his parents. He keeps the lie after he grew up.
Woo-Joo wakes up Ki-Baek from the beach after she saved him. She learns that he didn’t intend to jump into the sea. He asks her to pretend not to know him. He runs away. He runs into her again. He asks her to give him a ride because his friend left with his car.
She agrees to it but she stops him when he tries to get in her car. She lets him wear the “Men on the Run” clothes. He offers to wear his own clothes. He promises to pay for her to wash the car. But she’s against it because they were soaked in the salt water. He scolds her.
Mi-Ra finds Jeong-Heon in the dressing room. He reveals he plans to do Woo-Joo’s show even if the show doesn’t begin. It makes her believe that he and the writer had a story before. Woo-Joo and Ki-Baek are on the way to Seoul. He lets her park her car at the street because he thinks she’s not well. She passes out.
He carries her to the hospital. He teaches the boy to tell a lie to the doctor when the boy wishes his brother to get the treatment. The doctor shows up. He tells Woo-Joo that she’s fine. But Ki-Baek lets her lie down because he thinks she should wait until the drip ends.
Ki-Baek and Woo-Joo leave the hospital. She thanks him for helping her before he runs away. He returns home and he watches the news. She returns home when Bok-Ja is teaching Gu-Won how to read tarot cards. Bok-Ja reveals Woo-Joo and Ki-Baek are going to ruin everything.
Woo-Joo returns to her room. She lies in her bed. She remembers Ki-Baek cared for her. She smiles. Ki-Baek wakes up in the morning. He doesn’t know what to do. Woo-Joo is having a meeting with her team. Ha-Young shows up. Woo-Joo doesn’t want to see the girl.
Yoo-Jung has a party in the room. She lets In-Soo go to give some rice cakes to Ki-Baek. Chae Yeon explains it to Woo-Joo that the chief invited Ha-Young to join them. She reveals Ha-Young will be the support writer. Min-Gu introduces Ha-Young as the worse newbie. He reveals Woo-Joo helped Ha-Young a lot when Ha-Young was a rookie. But Ha-Young betrayed Woo-Joo. She became a head writer then.
Woo-Joo shakes hands with Ha-Young. She wears the heels to make herself look taller. She claims that she has a cast meeting. She leaves her office. Yoo-Jung and In-Soo visit Ki-Baek. She leaves with her husband after she put the rice cakes on the door. Because she knew her son has pride.
Ki-Baek eats the rice cakes. He thinks it’s good. He tries to speak. But he finds out that it doesn’t work. He remembers it worked when he stayed with Woo-Joo. He calls her when she’s waiting for her senior for casting him. The guy Mr. Kwak shows up.
She asks him to do the show for her. But he rejects it. Jeong-Heon shows up. He mentions he asked Woo-Joo for a casting meeting. Mr. Kwak offers to grab a coffee together. But Woo-Joo leaves. She returns to her office and she finds out that Ki-Baek is looking for her.
Ki-Baek grabs Woo-Joo’s arms. He tries to speak but he finds out that it doesn’t work. He complains it to her why it didn’t work. She asks him to release her. Jeong-Heon grabs Ki-Baek. He’s surprised that the person who tangled Woo-Joo was his friend.
Yoo-Jung invites Bok-Ja to watch Jeong-Heon’s video at her house. She thinks he saw Jeong-Heon somewhere. In-Soo reveals Ki-Baek and Jeong-Heon were classmates. Yoo-Jung asks Un-Baek if Jeong-Heon and Ki-Baek were friends. He denies it.
Woo-Joo looks at Jeong-Heon and Ki-Baek. She thinks the two know each other. Jeong-Heon reveals he and Ki-Baek were friends. Ki-Baek tries to keep Woo-Joo. But she’s furious to walk away. She washes her clothes on the rooftop because she’s upset. Bok-Ja gives more clothes to Woo-Joo.
Woo-Joo gets a call from Chae Yeon who blames Woo-Joo for not telling her that Jeong-Heon took the bait. Woo-Joo remembers Jeong-Heon told her that he wants to do her show as a show host. Ki-Baek meets with Joo-Ho in the laundry. Joo-Ho reveals there’s a switch in Ki-Baek’s brain.
Ki-Baek goes to work. But his boss Sang-Jin ignores him. He wishes him to resign. Ki-Baek goes to the cafeteria to have lunch. He runs into Woo-Joo. She takes him to the studio. She buys him the noodles. She mentions what he wanted to tell her before.
He denies it. She finds out that he can tell lies again. He asks her to throw away the noodles for him. He tries to leave. She keeps him and she cheers him up after knowing news means a lot to him. Ki-Baek takes part in the JBC anchor audition even if he knows Sang-Jin uses him.
He sneezes. Woo-Joo breaks into the audition room before the audition begins. She persuades Ki-Baek to protect his heart. He gives a perfect audition. The PD thinks Ki-Baek is good. But the higher-up wishes Mr. Choi to be the anchor.

Ki-Baek reveals he wants to do news because news is the real thing in his lie life. He announces that he’s going to leave the news stage. Sang-Jin shows up. He blames Ki-Baek for taking part in the audition. Ki-Baek gives Sang-Jin a lesson. He acts cool in front of Woo-Joo. He thanks her for helping him protect his heart. He leaves the audition room. Yoo-Jung returns home when Ki-Baek is teaching his brother karate in the epilogue. Ki-Baek promises to protect Yoo-Jung. But she asks him to protect his heart instead.
